So I proposed here to help me translating the UI of Howtosay with the help of her students! So we got some other languages coming soon as Albanian & Greek…keep tuned!!

And don’t forget that we are always looking for somebody the help us out.

She is a professional English-Arabic translator, holds B.A from Faculty of Arts, English Department, Language and Translation section, Alexandria, Egypt. She is specialized in Legal and Literary translation.

She works as a free-lancing article writer as well as translator for different blogs and websites. Languages and Linguistics are her main interests.

She believes that “Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow.” -Oliver Holmes.

Of course all this work would not be possible without the help of great people that offer their own time and language knowledge so in this months we were able to launch few languages.

Now is the time for Hebrew , unfortunately I do not have any knowledge of this language and I am not sure if the translation, the orientation and all the rest is properly made!

So I ask anybody that has such knowledge to help me out communicating bugs, issues or whatever you consider “improvable”.

Shina is our contributor that managed the translation of howtosay.org in Malay language

She is a professional translator and holds a Diploma in Translation (in Mass Communication) from a local body, namely Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.

She did some translation work for a local pharmaceutical. The purpose of the translation was to educate the general public on food supplements and other related topics. She was also employed as a Personal Assistant for monitoring the company’s account and administration.

Prior to that she was working in an Insurance firm.

She resigned from her full time job, and later took a break from freelancing to give priority to her growing up children. Now she is a volunteer translator with howtosay.org

The last improvement we had made is the realization of a metalanguage user interface. We launched the Italian one and testing all the new features but we are planning to launch other languages very soon.

I have been maintaining the site for few months now and it’s fairly challenging to follow this languages and to be honest I don’t have a decent knowledge for most of them (It’a a nice way that I don’t have a clue about some languages!!) so I’m not able to fix, correct them or remove them.

So I decided to ask help to you!

What I would like is to have volunteers that have a decent knowledge of a basic English (to communicate with us!)  and another language to help me to correct some of the translation and keep track of what is happening.

In exchange, if you wish, I will create a page with your CV, Picture and all the information you wish to have and I will add your name close to the translations you will be correcting. This will give you a very good visibility in the world of interpreter and translators.

I was lost in downtown and I wanted to ask some information, actually, I was lost looking for some nice restaurants.

Surprisingly in Hong-Kong English isn’t as common as you can imagine, so I took an English-Chinese dictionary. It did not help! Because you build sentences differently in different languages, suddenly an idea!

It would be very useful a phrase book that contains loads and loads of sentences already made in many languages…
